Instructors

Ms Tan Yew Khim (BSc, MSc) graduated with a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the Department of Information and Computer Science (DISCS), National University of Singapore (NUS) in the 80s. She spent the first ten years of her working life as a Senior Tutor and later as an Instructor with DISCS, NUS. From 1994 to 1996 she worked for the Multimedia Unit and Centre for Computer Studies in Ngee Ann Polytechnic where she gained practical experience in multimedia courseware development. Thereafter she joined her family business, Taknet Systems Pte Ltd, an Information Technology Company with presence in Singapore, Malaysia, U.S.A. and Australia. Her company was a contractor for Multimedia Courseware Development for many government agencies in the late 1990s and she was in charge of over a million dollar courseware development project for a government agency leading a team of over ten staff including Instructional Designers, Programmers and Graphics Artists. She is also a trained Instructional Designer.

Currently, she is the CFO for her company and is in charge of overseas business development for her company. Her current project is to open a branch in Vietnam for manufacturing and distribution of her company servers and storage products. Her company manufactures the ReadyStorTM Network Attached Storage line of products and is currently developing the ReadyStorTM Virtual Tape Library System. She has great interests in ELearning and is the Secretary of the Association For Advanced Education and Elearning (AFAEE). Many of the founding members of the Association are current or retired faculty of the Information and Computer Science Departments in NUS. Some of the projects done by this association are to bring computer-based learning to the Third World Countries such as Sri Lanka and East Timor. The latest project of AFAEE is to build a portal for Elearning with emphasis on improving education in the least developed countries leveraging on digital technologies and the power of internet.

Mr Kelvin Loh L.F. (B.App.Sc) Kelvin Loh has over 15 years of experience in systems design & development, training, e-learning and consulting. Prior to this, he was with Explorium as the E-learning Director. Earlier he was a Senior Analyst Programmer of an established IT firm called Singapore Computer System Ltd. He was responsible for e-learning consulting services, solutions design and implementation. He also has many years of experience in project management and internet and multimedia production.

Kelvin has implemented various technology-based learning projects for major local and foreign-based companies. With his background in IT, Kelvin has also immersed himself in portal projects and other technology assignments. He has worked on projects for Maybank, CIMB Bank, Bank Rakyat, Hong Leong Bank, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Public Bank, RHB Bank, Petronas, Great Eastern, KPMG Malaysia, Malaysia Accounting Standard Board (MASB), Hypersurf, Eliteguh, PEP Publication, Institut Bank-Bank Malaysia, Infodidik, Jabatan Perancangan Bandar & Desa (JPBD), Selangor, Hauren Education Foundation, PointFlex Snd Bhd, SIGMA-MIMOS, NEC Malaysia, Firum Sdn Bhd
